Zayd Ahmed secures acquittal for client charged with ‘taking revenge’

Zayd Ahmed was instructed to defend an individuals charged alongside six other defendants with offences of taking revenge and robbery.
The Crown’s case was that the defendant was seen with others entering a block of flats, where the complainant had been beaten and threatened with stabbing.
The background to the case was that the complainant had given evidence in a criminal trial, resulting in the conviction of a number of their associates.
The evidence came from several sources including eyewitness testimony, CCTV and phone evidence.
Following a three-week trial, the jury acquitted Zayd’s client.
